Build one manually controlled robot that can pick colored gem blocks and deposit them into designated collection zones.
Use one RoboQuest controller and its remote for programming and control, with no autonomous features.
Compete on a 240 cm x 340 cm 8-ball-pool-style arena and complete the task within 5 minutes.
Students from Grades 6 to 8 can participate.
Each team can have a maximum of 3 participants.
The robot must use BO DC motors with maximum speed of 200 RPM and a battery not exceeding 12V.
The main robot dimensions must not exceed 25 cm x 25 cm x 20 cm during initial inspection, excluding the robotic hand but including wheels, with a 5% tolerance.
Maximum robot weight is 1.5 kg; wheel diameter must not exceed 8 cm and wheel width must not exceed 2.5 cm; omni-directional wheels are not allowed.
The robot must start from the Manual Control Zone, collect gems using a robotic arm, deposit them in the correct zones, and return to the start zone.
